Shipmate knew that, and they knew they had the perfect client in mega-creative card maker, Ohh Deer, to steer this story of how Shipmate’s smart piece of shipping software brings a monumental impact to their client’s businesses.
Our job was to tell this story, with a distinctive engaging style that would captivate Shipmate’s target audience. And below we take you through our approach.
The resulting video is first class (postage pun very much intended).

The Objective and Strategy Behind the Scene
The primary goal was clear from the start: to showcase the scale of the benefits from Shipmate’s shipping software through the lens of Ohh Deer’s success story. Beyond a mere testimonial, we aimed to craft a narrative that highlighted the strategic importance of efficient shipping solutions in today’s fast-paced e-commerce landscape.
Our real challenge lay in articulating the technical prowess of Shipmate’s software in a manner that resonates emotionally with business owners. As Zig Ziglar famously put it, people “buy with emotion and justify with logic.”
This principle guided our approach, as we sought to engage viewers on an emotional level. By doing so, we not only highlighted the logistical improvements but also illuminated the growth opportunities that Shipmate’s smart solution unlocked for Ohh Deer. Through prompting and capturing authentic responses from the people using Shipmate each day we could show that Shipmate’s software doesn’t just streamline shipping – it revolutionises businesses.




The Making Of A Masterpiece
Pre-production began with a series of brainstorming sessions between Shipmate and our creative team – with Ohh Deer brought in down the line. The collaboration was pivotal, ensuring the video’s narrative would authentically represent both brands’ voices whilst letting ‘the story’ take centre stage.
We decided on a documentary-style approach, blending interviews with behind-the-scenes footage of Ohh Deer’s operations to illustrate the software’s impact in real-time. Filming took place over one very busy day, capturing the seamless integration of Shipmate’s solution into Ohh Deer’s daily workflow, emphasising ease of use and efficiency gains.
Once in the editing suite, the video truly began to take shape. We intertwined Ohh Deer’s vibrant brand aesthetics and products with Shipmate’s sleek interface, using dynamic editing and a carefully curated soundtrack amplified the video’s upbeat rhythm, transforming raw footage into a compelling story.
Upon viewing the first cut, Chris Ison, Co-Founder of Shipmate, replied with:
